“A B-52 bomber mistakenly loaded with five nuclear warheads flew from Minot Air Force Base, N.D, to Barksdale Air Force Base, La., on Aug. 30, resulting in an Air Force-wide investigation, according to three officers who asked not to be identified because they were not authorized to discuss the incident,” according to the Navy Times.

The B-52 was loaded with Advanced Cruise Missiles, part of a Defense Department effort to decommission 400 of the ACMs. But the nuclear warheads should have been removed at Minot before being transported to Barksdale, the officers said. The missiles were mounted onto the pylons of the bomber’s wings.

Advanced Cruise Missiles carry a W80-1 warhead with a yield of 5 to 150 kilotons and are specifically designed for delivery by B-52 strategic bombers.

Air Force spokesman Lt. Col. Ed Thomas said the transfer was safely conducted and the weapons were in Air Force custody and control at all times. However, the mistake was not discovered until the B-52 landed at Barskdale, which left the warheads unaccounted for during the approximately 3 1/2 hour flight between the two bases, the officers said.

This is incredible. How could something like this happen? These warheads are said to be some of the most “protected” materials in the Armed Forces. I am all for destroying the weapons, but I am just glad that nothing bad happened with this situation. Talk about a blunder…

Around 10:30 a.m. on April 11, a white Leesburg male jumped off the Waxpool Road overpass onto Route 28 in what appears to be a suicide, Loudoun County Sheriff Steve Simpson said.Traffic was closed on Route 28 North for three hours while the Sheriff’s Office was on the scene investigating.

A car was sitting on the Waxpool Road Bridge, which appeared to be the car of the deceased.

Witnesses began calling the Sheriff’s Office around 10:31 a.m. Several vehicles were in the area when the 58-year-old man jumped, but it does not appear that any of them struck the man, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Kraig Troxell said “If anybody was in this area at about this time that has any information, we’d certainly appreciate a call,” Simpson said.

The Sheriff’s Office traffic, crime scene investigation and criminal investigation units were on the scene taking pictures, measurements and documenting the incident.

The body was lying face down in the middle of the road and remained there until the initial investigation was complete. “Until you know exactly what you’ve got, you have to treat the area as a crime scene,” Simpson said during the investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the incident and has not spoken to authorities is asked to call Sheriff’s Investigator K. Poland at 704-777-0475.

Don’t think I’ve ever heard anything like this happening so close to home. What the fuck is wrong with some people?!

Eddie Griffin crashed a rare Ferrari Enzo worth more than $1 million into a concrete barrier while practicing at a racetrack Monday, destroying the car but escaping uninjured.

The comedian was practicing for a charity race to promote his upcoming film, “Redline,” when he drove too fast around a curve at the Irwindale Speedway. Video footage showed the red sports car screeching before it ricocheted off the barrier with heavy damage to its front.

“Undercover Brother’s good at karate and all the rest of that, but the brother can’t drive,” Griffin, referring to one of his past films, said after the accident.

“He walked away completely unscratched, but probably a little shaken,” Zocks said.

The Enzo, valued at around $1.5 million, was owned by the executive producer of “Redline,” Daniel Sadek, whose exotic car collection is featured in the movie.

Sadek said that the car was damaged beyond repair and that he had “mixed feelings” about the wreck.

“I’m glad Eddie came out of the crash OK, but my dream car got destroyed,” Sadek said. “I went to my trailer for about 15 minutes and I thought, there’s people dying every day. A lot of worse things are happening in the world.”

Only 400 Ferrari Enzos were ever produced, all between 2002 and 2004.
