My Grandfather was buried at Arlington National Cemetery today.

Today was the day that my baby sister got married. I had the pleasure and honor to be the man of honor, since she did not have a bride’s maid. The ceremony was beautiful. Being there, by her side, to share her most special moment was the best feeling in the world. Many of our family friends made it out. It was so great to catch up with everyone. We all seemed to enjoy the ceremony and reception that followed it. Some of us even tried our best to get freaky on the dance floor. Hehe.

I had to give a brief speech and had my sister crying. I almost got her husband crying too with my words about welcoming him to the family. I had people come to me afterward to tell me how moved they were by my words. I used what I had written for the first bit, but then went into “heart mode” and just talked honestly. It ended up being a home run. Go me!

I am so proud of my baby sister. She touches my heart is so many ways. I am so fucking happy to be her big brother!

Can’t sleep… AGAIN. UGH. So I am looking thru my flickr referrals and came across this site that has given me a whopping 8 hits. Seems to be some hip website that might be popular in Italy. Judging the pictures of the girly looking dude in the article I am not sure what the fucking thing is about or why its using the image of my Mom tattoo… Of course, I say this before I attempt to translate the page. Where you at Google?!

Haha! After translating the article it seems that some actor dude got a mom tattoo and his Mother got all bitter. Sucks for him. My mom might not like the fact that I have so many tattoos, but I’m pretty sure she likes the Mom tattoo. That’s beside the point though. GRR. This fucking site stole my shit. I am about to hit ‘em up and be like WTF?!?! Obviously the translation is not so great, but you get the point.

I don’t want my vacation to end. HEHE. It has been so awesome. As it nears the end, I can’t help but look back and think that this has been the best vacation ever. For me anyways. Mostly, I just needed to get the fuck away from Virginia. I had been working heads down for the last few months, busting my ass! Plus, I bet there were a few people that were glad that I was not around. It’s always nice to have people miss you though.

Tuesday was our last day at the beach. Sadly, that was the day that Mother Nature decided to open the jar of shitty weather that had been bottled up during our stay. We went for Cracker Barrel and it started raining – and didn’t stop. Weee. We did some souvenir shopping, finished packing up the room, and loaded the car. I got a bunch of tight new metal albums from bands I have heard of but never was able to find in the record store. \m/ After all that we left around 6 PM and headed for Jacksonville.

Fuck yeah. Vacation is just what I needed. To get the hell out of Virginia. To run away from work. To not hear from anyone for 10 days. It has been working out to plan pretty well. The weather has been absolutely perfect the entire week. Low 90′s, partly cloudy, not a damn drop of rain in sight. Some pretty neat heat lightning in the evenings but that is kewl.

Lots of time on the beach, lots of time in the pool. Lots of drinking. Lots of shopping. Lots of reading. Lots of just fucking relaxing. Soooooo nice. I snuck a peak at my work email and things seem to be going smoothly in my absence, which is relieving.

Lots of crazy shit in the news while I’ve been away… Brett Favre (its Fav-ray people) – this missing girl in Florida. Lots of crime on the news down here. Pretty crazy. Most of the talk has been about the weather though. So perfect. Last year it was craptastic. Thankfully this year has been much better!!! I am getting a tan, which is nice. After a fucked up couple of weeks I finally got to run away to Florida for my summer vacation. Work was insane this week. I guess that is kewl cuz its over now, and I get to party for 10 days without having to worry about it. Well, try to. Hehe.

We launched the new Autos main page Thursday. One of the biggest things we have done this year, which is surprising cuz we have been having a killer year. I think its pretty solid. We pushed it live and have only been notified of a few minor issues so far. No news is good news in my book. It is super hard for me to just walk away from it the day after, however.

I also found out that my team is getting split up a bit. Kinda bummed about that – kinda happy about it. They are going to be moving away from me. Good that the old stompy guy is moving, but shitty that my fellow dev lead is moving away. Sometimes, she’s the only reason I can make it throughh the day. Sigh. They are talking about moving my other engineer down by me which is kewl.

And its only Wednesday. Monday was kewl until the afternoon time. I pretty much acted like an idiot, ran my mouth like a whore in confesssion, and didn’t get shit done. Then yesterday was one of the worst days I have had in a while. Had to run around like a maniac getting some executive orders done. I felt like a dick for not talking to her. I just didn’t know what to say. I wanted to crawl into a hole and die. To make matters worse she probly hates me for thinking that I was trying to avoid her.

Didn’t get any sleep last night. Don’t know how I’m gonna make it through today, or the rest of the week for that matter. I just want to run away and not look back. Why do I always manage to fuck up good situations?

Sigh*. What is a boy to do.
