Hardcore Saturday Night
Holy shit. What an awesome night. First off, it was absolutely beautiful outside yesterday! I started the day early and went to handle my shit at the DMV. The line was long but at least I got to do my thing at the window and did not have to ‘take a number’ and wait around like everyone else. I went and got karate bagels afterwards. They raised the speed limit on the main road in my town which helps a lot. Man, to think that in my Senior High School Government class, we tried to petition the county to raise the limit. 9 years later… Wee
Got my car washed which was way overdue. This place next to me does a pretty decent job too. I was so damn lazy I did not want to do it myself, and it is just so easy to sit and watch other people do it. Chilled out a bit after that and caught up on some DVR action. I headed to Baltimore around 4 and got there in a pretty decent amount of time. Hit Eastern Ave and did a lil bar hopping. Going alone to a show is never fun so you have to make the most of it. Headed down to the venue, and… Continue Reading

Happy time. Kind of…
This past weekend was fun. Caturday was “Rock Band 2″ day and we had the full band going. Your man Toxi was beatin’ the skins, Joe was crushin’ the axe, Mark was destroying the bass & Michael was nailin’ the vocals. We were really having a good time. The songs in the new version are so tight. We did switch it up a little bit… its fun to fuck around on the vocals and guitar some too. Hehe. “It’s the eye of the tiger. It’s the thrill of the fight. Rising up to the challenge of our rival. And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night…” You shoulda seen me… CRUSHED it.
Mom and I snagged J and we headed up to FedEx field to see the Redskins play the Arizona Cardinals. We got there at a decent time and got the grill fired up. I love drinking beer and eating cooked animals at 10 am on a Sunday. Ahh. J made these killer pork chops and the burgers were cooked to perfection. We got shafted and had to walk around the stadium to get to the escalator, which was kewl. Some interesting people attending these football games.
The very last section of the escalator was broken so we all… Continue Reading

Rock Band 2
Over the last few months I have become addicted to Rock Band. Actually knowing how to play some musical intruments I was kinda skeptical when I first heard about it. I thought it would be dumb or whatever. But after playing it for a while I absolutely love it. Rock Band 2 came out for Xbox 360 on Sunday and I was able to get my copy on Monday.
The new songs are pretty fucking fun. I have only gotten to unlock a few though. Of course, all of the downloaded songs that I purchased work in the new game and they just released the entire Megadeth “Peace Sells” album this week. Fuck yeah. I have a lot of metal on there now. New songs get released every week and its scary how easy it is to purchase them. I must have over 150 songs now! Schweet!
I can’t wait for my ION drumrocker to show up. I am going to be crushing some drums! I totally ordered the third cymbal and the second bass pedal. Watch out when I start busting out some double bass!! Theres gonna be a fucking mosh pit in my apartment!
Who wants to come rock out with a brother?

Weekends are the best!
We have this thing at work called “Summer Friday” where if you have your work for the week completed and are in a position by the middle of the day Friday, you could leave work early to enjoy a half day. As developers some of us never got to actually have one. But this past Friday, we were super slackers and left at 1:30. Fuck yeah.
I was really looking forward to this Summer Friday. Josh and I had been planning this Friday for a long time. We were going to see some of the Subnoize Recording Artists up in Baltimore. We missed some of the opening acts but were able to sneak through the admission line and catch the majority of Hed PE’s set. They fuckin’ rocked! Jahred blabs too much and they could have gotten 2 more songs in, but whatever. He always has funny shit to say. It was also nice to see him doing his civic duty by signing boobs after their set. Fun times!
Tech N9ne came out and rapped for a long ass time. He is pretty tight. The crowd was really into his performance and the place was packed so it was kewl to see everyone going nuts. This group of young idiots next to me… Continue Reading

Rockstar Weekend
I love fun weekends. For real. I needed a super fun weekend before going back to work. That’s exactly what I got. On Caturday, I got to see Jenni and have her work on me. I got a neat tattoo. Kinda secret right now but I’ll post more later. Hurts like a bitch. Now its time to heal. Ugh. I hate healing. Chilled with her and some other peeps after and had some dinner, played some Rock Band (I got a 565 note streak on one song playing lead guitar – OH SHIT) watched the Skins game (3-0 preseason FUCK YEAH) and read more of my book. Shit is awesome.
Sunday was the ROCKSTAR Mayhem Festival down the road a bit. It was pretty awesome. Lately, I have become more of a fan to see shows at bars and clubs. The big venues are cool, but I really don’t like people that much so it kinda sucks most of the time. We saw Mastodon, Disturbed and Slipknot, and I went over to the second stage to catch Machine Head. They destroyed – as usual – and it was really kewl to see the side-stage crowd getting hardcore into their performance. See my previous post but it sucked cuz Phil collapsed during their second… Continue Reading

All work and little play makes Brandon a dull boy
Which is why I got to play on Saturday with my friends. We went to the Bob Marley Reggae Roots fest up in Baltimore Maryland. It was real neat. The pavillion sat right on Pier6. We could see lots of water, boats, neat scenery and got lots of breeze. We had lawn seats so the Sun was pretty bad but the big awesome clouds came to bully the Sun away and save us.
I have not seen live Reggae much so this was a new experience for me. It was hella kewl. I had a blast. There were lots of chill people and we met a few of the musicians from the different bands. We ended up hanging out for the entire afternoon. We missed the first few bands but caught Soja, Barrington Levy, Ziggy Marley (acoustic set, YAY) & Stephen Marley. Damien came out to do some songs as well. It was really awesome. I gotta admit, they really had the crowd into it and they were very talented musicians.
Being the white-guy-that-cant-dance that I am, I learned a few moves from the back-up singers. They had some moves! So I dedided to dance around like an idiot for a bit and enjoyed myself. This kid passed out on the lawn so… Continue Reading

Nine Inch Nails – Ghosts
According to The NIN Hotline, NINE INCH NAILS has self-released a new instrumental album, “Ghosts I-IV”. Consisting of 36 instrumental tracks described as “music for daydreams” and released under Creative Commons, it is available in a wide range of formats: MP3, double CD, a package with: the 2xCD, multitracks on DVD, and a deluxe book, and finally the super-deluxe limited edition which includes all that as well as a copy of the album on vinyl.
Just when I think that Trent Reznor has outdone himself, he goes completely over the top and does something even more amazing. Trent has taken this whole “anti-recording industry” movement to new levels. The distribution model is tight. I did not hesitate to drop $75 on the deluxe edition.
The album is very interesting. It definitely makes you think about all of the various scenarios that one could “paint” visually to the soundtrack. Each time I listen to it, I interpret a different “vision.” I love a good mind fuck.
I am definitely intrigued to see how Trent takes this concept to the next level. He mentioned that he had been working on this for quite some time. Hard to imagine what he can come up with next… given the amazing… Continue Reading

Coolest Concert Memorabilia Ever!
Back in December of 2007 my buddy J and I went to see GWAR at the 930 Club. We have caught every GWAR show that has hit DC since 2004. No bullshit. We’re tight like that. But this show in December was the SHIT of GWAR shows. It might just go down as one of my favorite shows/nights of 2007.
The merchandise booth was selling a custom hand-painted drum head actually used by the band on their tour. It was painted as they were heading to DC the night before. I could not let the piece go to anyone else. So I bought it. And it had the drummers signature on it. My buddy J and me waited in the fucking cold after the show for each and every member of the band to come out and sign the piece. They each came out with anticipation. Many of them had not seen the piece. But they heard about it
I have a one-of-a-kind piece that will be mounted on my wall for a long long time. Check it out! Hella badass!!!

Woohoo!! Party Weekend!
The body gallery held a customer appreciation party last night and it was a blast! Lots of kewl peeps ended up making it out. I am glad to be associated with such a kick-ass group of people. Many beverages and rose petals were consumed. It was one of the more fun nights that I have had in a while.
Tonight, I am holding my first Superbowl party. I got the phat HDTV in November and can’t miss watching my first big game on my first big screen. I am going to have a few friends stop by. Making some wings, nachos, and all that good stuff. Hopefully the game is not a stinker. Either way, I know we will have good eats, and a good time.
Shit… tomorrow I am going to see HED PE in Maryland, and then Hellyeah, and Machine Head in DC on Tuesday night. Gonna be a nice lil stretch of fun stuff. Weeee! Fuck yeah!
