I want the new iPod!

Today, apple announced the iPod Touch. It will share much of the functionality that can be found in the iPhone. Wifi, Safari, Youtube, iTunes Music Store. They also redesigned the iPod and iPod Nano. Both, pretty decent upgrades to an already awesome line of media players.

Among other things, Apple has discontinued the 4 GB model of the iPhone and they dropped the price of the 8GB model $200 to $399. I just wish they would open up the network on the device so that it would work on other carriers, I would snag this in a heart beat. I am just curious when they will release an update to the iPhone that will include a 16 GB model like the iPod Touch has.

I am tempted to get one now… but I think I am more tempted to hold off and see what comes of this device in the next few weeks/months. I usually tend to stay away from the first revision of any new “generation” of a device.

Shit does look slick though.

I use Mac OS X as the primary operating system on the three main machines that I use during my personal and business computing. I have been a fan of the OS since the 8.x days, and the much anticipated release of 10.5 (Leopard) is creeping near. I cannot wait for this to release. Is it October yet??
