Live MMA Fights are Badass!
Posted: Sunday, May 11th, 2008 at 12:16 pm | Tagged: SportsI went to my first live MMA fight last night, and it was pretty wicked. You could practically feel the hits as close as we were. Lot’s of good fighters, with a lot of blood!! YEAH BLOOOD!! MUAHAHAHA! Some of the fights were quick and clean while others were long and brutal.
A few of the fights were stopped by the ref since the fighter that was simply getting his ass kicked. One dude took an elbow to the nose and could not fight any longer cuz of his nose. Another guy took an illegal up-kick to the chin and got knocked-the-fuck-out. They had to bring in a stretcher to take him out of the cage. He did win the fight, but the shot he took was enough to end someone’s career, I’d guess.
WWE Superstar Batista was sitting 5 feet from me. I did get a chance to shake his hand and say hello. He is a pretty cool dude that is from around here. He trains here also when not on the road with WWE.
All in all, a good time and something I would totally do again. The energy coming from the cage was crazy. It was also cool to see them going at each others throats one second and then hugging and congratulating each other afterwards. I wasn’t super into MMA but I do appreciate it more now that I have gotten to see it live.
